About The Lenches Amphitheatre

A Unique Outdoor Theatre in Worcestershire

The Lenches Amphitheatre is the result of a 20-year community vision, brought to life by the Lenches Sports and Recreation Club (LSRC). Set in the beautiful surroundings of Church Lench, it offers spectacular views across the Severn Valley to the Malvern Hills.

LSRC is a local charity providing sports facilities for cricket, football, tennis, netball and more—at the heart of village life.

Creating an Open-Air Theatre Experience

Inspired by the site’s natural 30-metre slope, the idea was simple: create a unique outdoor theatre where people could enjoy live performances, music and events in a stunning rural setting.

With support from Wychavon District Council and overwhelming backing from the local community, the project secured funding through the Community Legacy Grant—turning a long-held dream into reality.

Built by the Community

This is a story of collaboration and generosity.

Local professionals volunteered their expertise, businesses donated materials and support—including 45,000 bricks—and villagers worked tirelessly to make it happen. The result is a space designed not just for performance, but for connection, culture and shared experiences.

A Lasting Legacy for the Midlands

Today, the Lenches Amphitheatre stands as a unique venue in the Midlands—created by the community, for the community.
