Sherlock Holmes Closes a Brilliant Season at The Lenches Amphitheatre
The curtain has fallen on another wonderful season at The Lenches Amphitheatre, and what a memorable finale it was. Our final performance of 2026, Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Governor’s Nose by Jenny Wren Productions, brought mystery, laughter and plenty of theatrical intrigue to the stage, providing the perfect conclusion to an incredible summer of live entertainment. Based on two classic Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stories, the production followed Holmes and Watson as they investigated the curious disappearance of a legendary painting, delighting audiences with its wit, humour and clever storytelling.
As we reflect on the season, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us throughout the year. Whether you attended one performance or many, your support has helped make 2026 another fantastic chapter in the Amphitheatre’s story. Seeing friends, families and theatre lovers gather beneath our beautiful Worcestershire skies is what makes every season so special.
A huge thank you must also go to the talented performers, production teams and visiting companies who brought such a diverse range of productions to our stage. Their creativity, passion and professionalism entertained our audience members and helped create unforgettable memories for our community.
Of course, none of this would be possible without our incredible volunteer team. From maintaining the site and welcoming visitors to serving refreshments, helping behind the scenes and supporting events throughout the season, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. The Lenches Amphitheatre is proud to be volunteer-run, and we are enormously grateful for their dedication, enthusiasm and countless hours of hard work.
As a registered charity, we would also like to thank everyone who made a donation during the season. Every contribution, large or small, helps us maintain and improve our unique outdoor venue, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy live theatre, film screenings and community events in this remarkable setting.
While the performance season may have come to an end, the work certainly hasn’t stopped. Our volunteers are already busy behind the scenes planning next year’s programme, exploring new productions and events, and preparing the Amphitheatre for another exciting season. There is plenty to look forward to, and we can’t wait to share our plans with you.
