The Lenches Amphitheatre was filled with music, dancing and nostalgia on Sunday 9 August as The Nightingales delivered another fantastic afternoon of live outdoor music in Worcestershire.
Performing a selection of much-loved songs from the 1960s, The Nightingales had the audience singing along from the very first number. Classics including Downtown by Petula Clark, Baby Love by The Supremes, L.O.V.E. by Nat King Cole, Hit the Road Jack by Ray Charles, Let’s Twist Again by Chubby Checker, Da Do Ron Ron by The Crystals and The Shoop Shoop Song by Betty Everett delighted music lovers of all ages. With many more favourites throughout the afternoon, it was a wonderful celebration of timeless pop music.
A True 1960s Atmosphere
As always, our amazing volunteers helped create a memorable atmosphere by dressing in colourful 1960s-inspired outfits. Their enthusiasm and attention to detail added to the fun, transforming the amphitheatre into a vibrant tribute to one of music’s most iconic decades.
Before long, audience members were on their feet dancing, clapping and singing along. Seeing people of all ages enjoying live music together is one of the things that makes events at The Lenches Amphitheatre so special.
